Angela & Ryan’s Romantic Spring Wedding at The Barn at Oak Manor Angela and Ryan’s wedding day was everything a spring celebration should be—joyful, sentimental, and blooming with color. Nestled just south of Atlanta, The Barn at Oak Manor served as the perfect venue for their intimate May wedding, with its lush grounds, Southern charm, and the […]

Lydia and Chaille’s spring engagement session was special for so many reasons- the main one being that Lydia has been a sweet friend to me over the years and capturing this milestone for her and Chaille was such an honor. We were able to do their spring engagement session at Spyglass Island on Lake Peachtree […]

It couldn’t have been more fitting to get to kick off the new year with this dreamy, in-home newborn session in Peachtree City with Amanda, Mark and their beautiful little ones. New year. New life. Although, baby Banks couldn’t wait for 2022 so he surprised his momma and daddy by arriving two weeks early on December […]

I consider it such an honor when families invite me to document their intimate and precious memories each season. These family portraits at Trilith are some of my favorite to date. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to capture some sweet moments for Luke, Emily and their adorable little ones and I’m always bewildered […]

One thing I love about getting to photograph families is seeing my repeat clients and their sweet families grow. I met Emily and Luke a few years ago (back when they just had one sweet baby!) and was honored to photograph her family for the holidays. Since then, their family has grown by two more […]

I’m so excited to share Angela and Ryan’s Arabia Mountain engagement session, one of the most joyful evenings I’ve photographed this summer! These two were absolute troopers — hiking up the mountain on a warm June evening — and it couldn’t have been more worth it. Between the glowing sunset, the sweeping views, and their […]

One of the first questions I get from my portrait clients is “Where should we do our portrait session?” (This one usually comes right after “What should I wear?!”) While the answer to choosing the perfect portrait location varies from client to client, I’m hoping to give just few tips to help you narrow your […]

I don’t even know where to begin. Somehow through all the chaos of our uprooted lifestyle, a tornado, and homeschooling my kids, I am still getting to do something I love. I STILL get to photograph beautiful wedding days and gorgeous families. I still get the privilege of capturing some of the most momentous and […]

As a practical and minimalist minded person, let me begin this by saying these are just my opinions that have been based on my own wedding experience, having been a bridesmaid a few times, and what I’ve observed as a wedding photographer. Being more on the minimalist side, some of these will undoubtedly be on […]

I love refreshing citrus flavors and this lemon bar recipe by Kim Nelson in her Daisy Cake Bakes Cookbook is one of my favorites! I added a hint of lavender which made my botanical-loving heart happy but that’s definitely optional! Ingredients Crust Filling Directions Let me know if you made this lemon bar recipe in […]
BEHIND THE LENS with alabama wedding photographer
I've cried at over a hundred weddings.
Still not sorry about it.
I'm Sarah — wife, mom of four, and someone who still gets a little emotional at ceremonies.
After ten years and nearly a hundred weddings, I've stopped thinking of photography as documentation. I think of it as preservation. The people we love are everything, and it's my job to capture the moments you share with them.
My approach is simple: intimacy without intrusion. The most honest images happen when you forget I'm there — when I'm watching, not directing. The look on your partner's face before they knew anyone was looking. The way your grandmother held your hand before you walked down the aisle. Those are the moments I'm after, and you can't manufacture them.
I believe photographs are one of the only things we leave behind that actually tell the truth. Not the highlight reel. The real thing.
I'm based in Auburn, Alabama and photograph weddings and families across the Southeast — Atlanta, Savannah, 30A, and wherever else couples invite me. Over a decade in, I still show up to every wedding like it's the only one that matters.
Because for that couple, it is.
