Atlanta History Center Wedding

I kicked off my photography season in January with Mary and Ross’s elegant Atlanta History Center wedding in Buckhead, Atlanta and ya’ll…I don’t even know where to begin. The one thing Mary told me in our first conversations about capturing her wedding, was that she and Ross wanted their day to be all about Jesus. They wanted to paint a picture of Christ and His love through their love and show others just how good and beautiful marriage is. I’d venture to say, and I’m sure others would agree, that they completely and utterly achieved just that. They wanted everyone who was present to feel important and special on that day which just speaks to the character of these two. They are some of the most caring and special people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing!

The day began with Mary and her beautiful bridesmaids getting ready at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead and Ross and the groomsmen at the Buckhead Goats Farmhouse. And yes….there were actual goats at the farmhouse! After that it was off to the beautiful Peachtree Presbyterian (their home church) where Mary shared a First Look with her father and brother and then finally Ross. (I definitely cried at all three!) and then they tied the knot surrounded by their sweet friends and family. Afterwards, it was a trolly ride down the street where they danced the night away to the incredible Atlanta Wedding Band (seriously…these guys were amazing!!) at the Grand Overlook Ballroom in the Atlanta History Center. You guys…it was such an unforgettable, whirlwind of a day!

There were so many special and beautiful moments that had me wiping away tears pretty much the entire time! If I had to describe their wedding in one word (which is already too difficult) it would be pure JOY. In the midst of all the sweet emotions, there was not a moment that wasn’t absolutely full of joy and love. The day itself was perfection…but I think what struck me the most were the guests! Every where you looked, friends and family were smiling and the only times they weren’t were when they were overcome with joyful emotion and wiping away tears. I’ve never met kinder or warmer people, and they were just a reflection of who Mary and Ross are. They are the epitome of kindness and warmth! I immediately felt like part of the family which made things so special! Every single element of this day—from the cake topper that had been passed down through generations in Mary’s family, to the Rolex that Ross wore that belonged to his grandfather—EVERYTHING had a story or a sentiment that made this day so meaningful and so special. Ross and Mary—for the umpteenth time—Congratulations and many blessings and joy to you both!!

I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to the incredible vendors that made this day so perfect!

BEHIND THE LENS

ABOUT Sarah

At home in the garden. Ever-focused on finding beauty in simplicity and the art of creating.

After photographing my first wedding nearly a decade ago, I was immediately drawn into the magic of creating a visual narrative that artfully expressed a couple's love story. Motherhood deepened my passion and inspired me to create images that were even more timeless and meaningful- photos that truly captured the moment in a real and organic way.

I believe in an approach that is people-centered, simple, and rooted in kindness: guiding my couples with unhurried, tailored prompts that result in beautiful images that tell your story how you want to remember it.

When my camera is not in hand, you can find me at home with my four children, dreaming up my next home improvement project, or planning out my next addition to our garden.
