I kicked off my photography season in January with Mary and Ross’s elegant Atlanta History Center wedding in Buckhead, Atlanta — and truly, I don’t even know where to begin. From the moment I met with them, I could tell their love was something rare and deeply rooted in faith. In our very first conversation, Mary shared that she and Ross wanted their wedding day to be centered completely around Jesus — that their love story would be a reflection of His love. And I can honestly say, they accomplished that and more.
A Morning Filled with Anticipation and Laughter
The day began at the Grand Hyatt in Buckhead, where Mary and her bridesmaids got ready surrounded by laughter, prayer, and quiet moments of reflection. Across town, Ross and his groomsmen were getting ready at the Buckhead Goats Farmhouse — yes, complete with real goats grazing outside, which brought a few smiles and plenty of fun to the morning.
The anticipation built as everyone prepared for the ceremony, but what stood out most was the sense of peace that filled the air. Every detail felt purposeful and joyful — just like Mary and Ross themselves.
A Ceremony Rooted in Faith
Their ceremony took place at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, their home church and a place that holds deep meaning for them both. Before walking down the aisle, Mary shared a tender First Look with her father and brother — and yes, I cried through all three moments! When she finally saw Ross for the first time that day, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight.
As they exchanged vows surrounded by friends and family, it was clear this wasn’t just a beautiful wedding — it was a worshipful celebration of love, grace, and gratitude.
Celebrating at the Atlanta History Center
After the ceremony, guests boarded a trolley for the short ride to the Grand Overlook Ballroom at the Atlanta History Center, where the celebration continued in full swing. The venue’s stunning architecture, soaring ceilings, and elegant atmosphere made it the perfect backdrop for a night filled with dancing, laughter, and heartfelt toasts.
The Atlanta Wedding Band kept the energy high all night long — seriously, they were incredible! Everywhere I looked, guests were smiling, dancing, and celebrating the newlyweds with so much joy.
Sentimental Details That Told Their Story
Every part of Mary and Ross’s day was filled with meaningful, personal details. From the heirloom cake topper passed down through generations in Mary’s family to the vintage Rolex Ross wore that once belonged to his grandfather — each element carried a story and legacy. Those small, intentional touches made their Atlanta History Center wedding even more heartfelt and memorable.
And the guests — oh, the guests! I’ve never met a kinder, warmer group of people. Everywhere I turned, there were smiles, hugs, and happy tears. Their joy reflected exactly who Mary and Ross are: two of the most genuine and loving people I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing.
A Day Overflowing with Joy
If I had to describe their wedding day in one word, it would be joy. Pure, radiant, overflowing joy. From start to finish, there wasn’t a moment that didn’t feel full of love — not just between Mary and Ross, but radiating outward to every single person present.
Mary and Ross, congratulations again! It was an honor to capture the start of your marriage and all the beautiful moments that made your day so unforgettable.
