When it comes to planning your wedding, it’s easy to feel the pressure to create something grand — hundreds of guests, a packed timeline, and a celebration that fills every moment. But for many couples, there’s a quiet tug toward something more personal. A micro wedding offers just that — a celebration centered on meaning, […]

When I think of romantic, European-inspired weddings close to home, Château Élan instantly comes to mind. If you’re dreaming of a day filled with old-world charm, rolling vineyards, and timeless elegance, a Chateau Elan wedding might be everything you’ve been envisioning. Having photographed several weddings there, I can tell you — it’s a venue that […]

Auburn AL Wedding Photographer’s Favorite Engagement Session Locations As an Auburn AL wedding photographer, I often get asked where the best spots are for engagement photos. Auburn is full of hidden gems that balance natural beauty, elegant architecture, and that soft, romantic light I love so much. If you’re recently engaged and dreaming of photos that […]

Doug and Elizabeth’s Historic Dekalb Courthouse wedding in Atlanta, Georgia, was the kind of day that reminds me why I love what I do. It was filled with warmth, gratitude, and a deep sense of peace — the kind of wedding where you can truly feel the joy shared between two people who have found their perfect […]

Finding the perfect location for portraits can feel overwhelming—but the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art in Auburn, Alabama, makes that choice an easy one. With its stunning architecture, beautifully landscaped grounds, and timeless elegance, it’s quickly become one of my favorite locations and the perfect backdrop for family and engagement portrait sessions. A […]

When you’re planning a wedding, it’s easy to get caught up in checklists and trends—sunset shots, champagne pops, flat lays, Pinterest boards. But here’s the truth: in ten years, those aren’t the wedding photos you’ll be pulling out when you want to remember what your day felt like. The wedding photos that last are the […]

Why the European Wedding Aesthetic Is So Timeless There’s something about European weddings—the old-world charm, lush gardens, stunning architecture, and slower, more intentional celebrations—that make them feel effortlessly romantic. From French chateaus and Italian villas to English countryside estates, these weddings embrace a balance of luxury and warmth that many U.S. couples dream of recreating. […]

This spring I had the absolute joy and pleasure of photographing Jenn, James and Ethan for a spring family session at the Jule Collins Smith Museum in Auburn, AL. The hydrangeas and garden florals were in full bloom and the space was perfect for little Ethan to roam around and play. They were traveling from […]

When you’re in the thick of wedding planning, it’s easy to lose sight of what matters most on your wedding day. Between scrolling Pinterest, juggling expectations, and trying to craft a “perfect” celebration, the heart of the day can get buried under pressure and perfectionism. As a wedding photographer who has walked alongside many couples […]

You’ve probably heard the phrase “it’s the little things,” and when it comes to wedding photography, that couldn’t be more true. Every detail you’ve thoughtfully chosen—your shoes, heirloom jewelry, a spritz of your favorite perfume—tells a piece of your story. That’s why I always begin a wedding day by photographing the bridal details. It sets the tone […]
BEHIND THE LENS with alabama wedding photographer
At home in the garden. Ever-focused on finding beauty in simplicity and the art of creating.
I’m Sarah — a photographer and storyteller drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments that make up a life. Based in Auburn, Alabama, I photograph weddings and families across the Southeast — from Atlanta and Savannah to the coastlines of 30A and beyond.
In a world that celebrates what’s curated, I believe in celebrating what’s real. Your wedding day isn’t a production; it’s a promise — a gathering of love, a day filled with fleeting, unrepeatable moments. I’m drawn to the in-between: the laughter, the glances, the hands reaching for one another. Because beauty isn’t found in what’s staged — it’s found in what’s felt.
My approach is calm, intentional, and rooted in trust. I want you to be fully present — to breathe, to feel, to live in the joy of it — knowing I’ll preserve every honest, graceful detail.
Your story deserves to be told artfully, but never artificially. Long after the flowers fade and the music quiets, these photographs become part of your legacy — a reflection of who you are and the love that began it all.
I’m a wife, mother of four, and believer in the quiet beauty of everyday life. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me baking in our 120-year-old Alabama home or tending to our garden — simple rhythms that remind me to slow down and notice what’s worth remembering. That same rhythm shapes how I photograph love: with stillness, gratitude, and honesty.
