Congratulations — you’re engaged! ✨ Once the excitement settles, one of the biggest decisions you’ll make is how to choose a wedding photographer. Your photographer is the person who will capture your memories, emotions, and all the fleeting moments that make your day one of a kind. Whether you’re planning a local celebration or dreaming of […]

Certain moments feel effortlessly perfect, and Natalie and Dave’s surprise proposal at Montaluce Winery was one of them. Thoughtfully planned, emotional, and set against the stunning Tuscan-inspired backdrop of this North Georgia vineyard, their engagement was nothing short of perfection. When Alexa reached out to me about capturing her best friend Natalie’s proposal, I knew […]

Choosing a wedding venue sets the tone, aesthetic and overall imagery of your wedding day and the selection process can feel daunting to say the least. (*cough cough* hire a planner ASAP to help with this!). As a wedding photographer, I’ve had the opportunity to photograph weddings all over the southeast but I wanted to […]

Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing some beautiful fall family portraits at Trilith. And it was extra special since I was photographing my brother’s family! Trilith is a great backdrop for portraits with its beautiful homes, shops as well as various parks and green spaces. This charming park provided the perfect natural backdrop with […]

This fall, I had the pleasure of photographing the Stiver family at one of my favorite portrait locations in Auburn—the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art. Tucked away just off campus, this beautiful museum offers the perfect blend of architecture, gardens, and open space. We met during golden hour, when the light is warm and […]

How to Prepare for a Relaxed, Joyful Family Portrait Session When it comes to capturing meaningful family photos, a little preparation and flexibility go a long way. As a photographer, I’ve learned that the most beautiful moments often happen in the in-between—after the standard poses are done and everyone starts to relax. Whether you’re planning […]

Every year, I get the joy of meeting and re-connecting with sweet families and their little ones. Most of my sessions take place outdoors in either the spring or the fall which offer a variety of backdrops and locations. But since these backdrops can be so varied depending on what is blooming or when leaves […]
BEHIND THE LENS with alabama wedding photographer
At home in the garden. Ever-focused on finding beauty in simplicity and the art of creating.
I’m Sarah — a photographer and storyteller drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments that make up a life. Based in Auburn, Alabama, I photograph weddings and families across the Southeast — from Atlanta and Savannah to the coastlines of 30A and beyond.
In a world that celebrates what’s curated, I believe in celebrating what’s real. Your wedding day isn’t a production; it’s a promise — a gathering of love, a day filled with fleeting, unrepeatable moments. I’m drawn to the in-between: the laughter, the glances, the hands reaching for one another. Because beauty isn’t found in what’s staged — it’s found in what’s felt.
My approach is calm, intentional, and rooted in trust. I want you to be fully present — to breathe, to feel, to live in the joy of it — knowing I’ll preserve every honest, graceful detail.
Your story deserves to be told artfully, but never artificially. Long after the flowers fade and the music quiets, these photographs become part of your legacy — a reflection of who you are and the love that began it all.
I’m a wife, mother of four, and believer in the quiet beauty of everyday life. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll find me baking in our 120-year-old Alabama home or tending to our garden — simple rhythms that remind me to slow down and notice what’s worth remembering. That same rhythm shapes how I photograph love: with stillness, gratitude, and honesty.
